  • Very good

    By Livingwithaspringer
A well written and quite satisfying police story. The Lake District setting, which was used to good effect, helped me decide to give 5*. I do have what might seem to some a petty complaint but it rankles me. I believe authors ought to use correct grammar, except in their characters’ speech which can reflect how people talk in every day life. Rachel Lynch is a very good writer but several times she used ‘stood’ and ‘sat’ when it should have been ‘standing’ and ‘sitting’. We would never say ‘I was swam in the sea’ or ‘he was ran down the road’. Rant over! Still worthy of 5*!
