  • Predictable but cute story

In all things we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover is the underlying story, I enjoyed it.
  • Pure brilliance- yet again ✨

Mhairi creates characters with such accurate detail and realness- you can tell she’s a great observer of people and that’s why her books and the characters in them capture that so well. I’ve never read a book of hers and not been struck by how spot on she summarises certain personalities or experiences. It’s refreshing to read a rom-com that doesn’t just prioritise romance, displays of affection, and follow a plot which is pretty predictable from the get go. This book made me laugh, made me feel that acidic burn of betrayal on behalf of Laurie, made me wish I had a friend like Emily, and, importantly, gave me a fantastic, aspirational, yet somehow today realistic and plausible love story. Roll on the next one, I can hardly wait!
  • Cute and ok

Cute storyline, the language was basic and too ‘chummy’ but perhaps that is the tone the author was going for
  • Unfortunately all too predictable

Unfortunately, after a great start, it takes a turn for the blindingly obvious about half way through and then it’s a grind to the very predictable end. Nicely written but a storyline that has been covered 1000s of times before. No surprises here.

A unique take on a well-known plot. The characters were well-developed and the story was dramatic yet believable! I’ll probably re-read this story again soon :-)
  • Easy read!

This is the first book I have ever managed to finish. Loved every part and couldn’t put this book down! Really enjoyed it and found it really easy to read. Sad the story doesn’t keep going! Definitely worth a read, so heartwarming. Will definitely be reading more by this author!

I am by far big on reading, in fact this is my fourth book I’ve read this year. I don’t usually read or rate fiction books, but this book to me by surprise. I’ve discovered an imagination of emotion and felt I was set right in the scene. The author has a tremendous way of writing! This book was so good, that I would read until the early hours of the morning commencing a 12 hour shift. Thank you, you have restored my faith and joy in reading again. Love Abigail L
