The edge-of-your-seat, heart-in-mouth new Jack Reacher thriller for 2020 - his 25th adventure. No one's bigger than Jack Reacher.

Jack Reacher gets off the bus in a sleepy no-name town outside Nashville, Tennessee. He plans to grab a cup of coffee and move right along.

Not going to happen.

The town has been shut down by a cyber attack. At the centre of it all, whether
he likes it or not, is Rusty Rutherford. He's an average IT guy, but he knows more than he thinks.

As the bad guys move in on Rusty, Reacher moves in on them . . .

And now Rusty knows he's protected, he's never going to leave the big man's side.

Reacher might just have to stick around and find out what the hell's gone wrong . . . and then put it right, like only he can.

'Jack Reacher is today's James Bond, a thriller hero we can't get enough of.' Ken Follett

'If you haven't read any Jack Reacher, you have a treat in store . . . a hitchhiker without a phone, a one-man force for good.' - The Times

'A contemporary version of the knight in shining armour . . . Reacher is a mythic figure.' Literary Review

'Jack Reacher is a wonderfully epic hero; tough, taciturn, yet vulnerable... Irresistible.' People

'Jack Reacher has long since earned his prominent place in the pantheon of cool, smart-talking American heroes.' New York Times

  • Lee Child sentinel

This is the worst book I’ve ever read by Lee Child, I wasn’t particularly interested in it by the time I read the first chapter. It’s the first time ever I found myself not caring whether I finished it or not, usually I can’t put his books down. I forced myself to finish it and was totally disappointed by it
  • Awesome story with a great twist

    By Trekkie Guru
The main story was current and held my attention. As usual Reacher was his usual full of physical and mental strength character. The secondary story line that kind of creeps up on you was very powerful and showed an emotion and very slight loss of control in Reacher not seen before. Fantastic I can’t wait for more.
  • Since when was Jack Reacher a dumb street brawler?

    By Notbrokedontchange
Sorry but this was not a good read. Jack Reacher who doesn’t like driving, is scared of confined spaces, believes everything he is told and is portrayed as a dumbass technophobe?? Even if I hadn’t have known this was a writing collaboration I would have questioned if Lee Child had written it. The character was not the Jack Reacher I know and like. There were too many loose ends and no clear conclusion - all a bit hurried and rather unsatisfactory. Personally I think Jack should have one last mission, be recalled to his army position, be killed in the line of duty defending his country and buried with full military honours next to his brother - a fitting end to a hero to be mourned by his millions of fans.
  • Fantastic but...

I have read every single Jack Reacher book and have been inspired by them to make a book of my own, that’s how much i love Lee Child, but this book was just a There’s just something about it that tells me: “this isn’t the Lee Child writing I know”. Maybe it’s the addition of Andrew Child, maybe it’s the combined factor, maybe it’s just inconsequential, I’m not sure, but the writing style of this book just isn’t Jack Reacher, I’m sorry.

Jeff Harding as always is a superb narrator, five stars. This was Reacher almost at his best. My only criticism would be the description of Luddites as being English workers who destroyed machinery as they believed it would threaten their jobs. My understanding of the situation is they were fighting for increased wages for the additional skills involved in the new technology.

This is not Lee Child. This is Andrew with Lee looking over his shoulder. Sometimes. Having read all Lee’s previous full length novels twice, I would have struggled to say exactly what attracted me to them. Now it’s clear. Narrative style. It is what allowed Lee to often get away with the implausible. It is what enabled me to enjoy the books twice despite knowing the plot . This work doesn’t quite do it for me; the implausible thus dominates . Reachyerfans
