Introducing Geralt the Witcher - revered and hated - who holds the line against the monsters plaguing humanity in the bestselling series that inspired the Witcher video games and a major Netflix show.

Geralt of Rivia is a Witcher, a man whose magic powers and lifelong training have made him a brilliant fighter and a merciless assassin.

Yet he is no ordinary killer: he hunts the vile fiends that ravage the land and attack the innocent.

But not everything monstrous-looking is evil; not everything fair is good . . . and in every fairy tale there is a grain of truth.

Andrzej Sapkowski, winner of the World Fantasy Lifetime Achievement award, started an international phenomenon with his Witcher series. The Last Wish is the perfect introduction to this one-of-a-kind fantasy world.

  • The story begins here

Despite some grammatical and typing errors (from Polish to English translation no doubt), the book is one massive roller coaster of emotions and a great way to step forward into rich Witcher world. Looking forward in reading the next book.

5/5 An excellent introduction to The Witcher series. A handful of short stories that all pieces together in the final chapters making for a thrilling, satisfying and charming ending. Also a perfect companion to those playing The Witcher games.

  • Fantastic fantasy

Your more likely to have heard of the Witcher video games rather than the book they were based on. This is the first installment in a saga by a polish author. These books were originally published years ago in polish and are only now being rereleased in an English format. This book along with the blood of elves are the first two in the saga. This is expertly written fantasy of the highest quality aimed at the adult market, plenty of debauchery to be had here along with lots of comic value and dark fantasy. Well worth the 4.99 asking price. Give it a go you might have found a hidden gem. Be warned though this first book in the saga skips to different plots along a timeline. Think pulp fiction style. Short stories linking , the next book however is a consistent story. The author can be forgiven this due to it being his first literary outing and has obviously intelligently strung his first tales of the Witcher Geralt together. It's very much s taster of things to come an intro if you will into the world and escapades of Geralt the Witcher. I loved it 5 stars
