What makes us brilliant? What makes us deadly? What makes us Sapiens? This bestselling history challenges everything we know about being human.

Earth is 4.5 billion years old. In just a fraction of that time, one species among countless others has conquered it: us.

In this bold and provocative book, Yuval Noah Harari explores who we are, how we got here and where we’re going.

‘I would recommend Sapiens to anyone who’s interested in the history and future of our species’ Bill Gates

‘Interesting and provocative… It gives you a sense of how briefly we’ve been on this Earth’ Barack Obama

  • The blurb of Human history.

    By UckUber
I would recommend reading this if you would like a great book about history as it has a coherent and entertaining writing style. The writer gives a brief synopsis of human history, morality and technological achievement. Do not expect to learn much about specific points in human history but rather a subtle reminder of the defining points which have influenced our species throughout our development and continue to do so in the present day. The writer encourages you engage with them and simply ask why things are the way they are.
  • Really thought-provoking read

Fascinating take on a history of the species and full of complex questions about our future, posed in a fairly non-judgemental manner.

I found this book while looking for information on success stories! What a book! Possibly all kids should study this story over the bible! A bare bones reflection on what we are and how we are told with humour and with an independent stance. In fact I’m going to start reading it again, you will be a different person after!
  • Everyone should read this book

A truly synoptic reading of human kind
  • Brilliant

    By Just_Imagine
Absolutely and utterly brilliant. The amount of other books this gives context to is incredible. Any non-fiction you would want to read, this book links to it in some way. It's a long book, but definitely worth the time and money. The amount of information is fascinating about our human history, and before us. READ IT.

Absolutely stunning book. Can put it down, change your mind, outlook on life. Pick it up again and it will still provoke your thoughts and stays relevant.
  • Most pleasurable educational experience.

It is a pleasure to listen to the theories and knowledge of Harari, in a light and witty tone. Highly recommend for all who want to know more about where we as humans come from, without trailing through the history books.
  • It should be required reading for all

Thought provoking and makes one re-assess the human race and how we’ve got where we are.
